About this pro

Recently retired from USAF after 20 years of service. Started tennis in HS & played throughout until early years of military service. Tennis was always a family sport. When my eldest was almost 6 years old, he began taking lessons in Okinawa. When we moved to HI, my youngest began playing as well when he was 5. I got recruited to coach Youth Tennis and was then hired by Wentworth Tennis Club in Pearl Harbor to instruct tennis. Have taught since (5 years) to include JTT (3 Championships and 2 2nd place finishes), Cardio Tennis/TRX Cardio, High Performance Juniors, Adult private and group lessons, Junior private and group lessons, and Summer Clinics. Have assisted in running tournaments and coached junior events (10 and under, Zonals, Intersectionals). I'm currently one of the Tennis Pro's at Mountain View Sports and Racquet Club and Assistant Coach for Mater Dei Catholic High School. Because my boys are open level players and have won numerous events, I understand what it takes to get juniors to reach their potential. Of course, I enjoy teaching all levels and ages as well. Tennis is a life-long sport that has been a huge part of our lives. We simply love this sport!

My child gets private lessons with Marlon. Marlon is very professional, conscientious, patient, and energetic. He does a good job teaching the tennis fundamentals and techniques on how to play against the opponent. Marlon does step-by-step instruction, drills, and would sometimes use equipment to assist in lessons. He has also recorded my son so they can review what he needs to be worked on. I recommend him as a tennis coach!

Coach Marlon is amazing at communicating with my girls. He breaks things down in a way they understand and he helps them work through their frustrations. He has taught them a broad range of techniques and motivates them to be their best.

Coach Marlon is different than any other coach out there. He doesn’t coach as if every student is the same. He tailors himself to the student on a personal level. And then the coaching compliments the student. It’s priceless!
