About
I have been a director and acting coach for 24 years which gives me the experience necessary to provide my clients with very concrete tools and methods for becoming better actors and performers. I work with all ages and have a great rapport with kids and adolescents. However I have a very holistic model of working as I am also a transformational life coach and currently working towards a a graduate degree in counseling psychology/ Drama Therapy.
This gives me the unique vantage point of being able to help my clients not only become better performers but also to understand themselves better, what obstacles they might need to overcome and using the metaphor of drama gain greater access to their emotional intelligence and voice in the world.
I find this process to be abundant and rich creatively, emotionally and psychologically! I love witnessing the transformation of my clients as they find their authentic voice, claim their power, and learn new skills which enable them to manifest their dreams of performing with confidence on the stage, in front of the camera , or in life!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I do an initial assessment where where we discuss your experience and goals. This shapes how I plan for ongoing sessions.
I always begin with a check in, a vocal and physical warm-up and then we move towards working on material that either the client or I provide.
We always end with a reflection on the process and I will usually give my client some things to work on or consider in between sessions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a BA in Acting and Directing from Naropa University and certifications from HB Studios in NYC and the Lincoln Center Directors lab. I am the Founder and Executive Artistic Director for Actors Academy for the Performing arts in Boulder and Denver, Colorado for the last 24 years(www.actorsacademyCO.com) and Executive Artistic Director at TheatreO in Boulder, Co. (www.theatreO.org)
I have directed multitudes of shows and prepared hundreds of individuals for auditions, speaking engagements, film and theater work, autobiographical performance and more. I have degrees in theater and dance and extensive experience studying at many of the top acting studios in New York City.
I am skilled in method acting techniques such as Meisner and Stanislavsky and am also very well-versed in more organic acting techniques such as Chekov's psychological gestures, as well as Uta Hagen's sense memory and Viola Spolin's improvisational work. I have successfully prepared my students for college auditions, regional theater auditions , film and tv auditions , keynote speeches and have given lessons in acting fundamentals to beginners just learning the ropes.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Sessions are generally an hour on length and are $ $90 if you come to my space in Concord , and $100 to $120 if I travel to you depending on commute.
Some discount packages may be available if you book 5 sessions or more.
I will occasionally do a sliding scale if the situation calls for it and I have the availability.
I also do sessions online at $90 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
I discovered a lack of inspiring and credible acting coaching modalities for individuals that attuned to both the creative and personal process of the individual while also tending to their professional goals. I started my own acting studio in 1996 after completing my BA in performance and directing and it has grown to be one of the most reputable and successful academies for performing arts west of the Mississippi.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with CEOS who wanted to "re-create their persona in the world , seasoned actors auditioning for their dream role, lay people wanting study acting for the first time, high school students preparing for college/conservatory auditions, professionals seeking more confidence in public speaking, women seeking personal empowerment through their voice, kids auditioning for their school play, individuals preparing for a big event such as reality tv , a keynote speech, a board meeting, an interview, or even a toast at a wedding! I've also prepared people for film and TV auditions as well as professional acting auditions in CO, NY and CA.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently worked with a mother of two young children who was being recruited for a reality TV show. She was extremely nervous and wanted help preparing. The irony is that you're not supposed to "prepare" for reality TV as they dont want you to act . What they want is for you to be yourself, so I helped her to create a character that felt authentically like herself, and an aspect of herself that she felt comfortable and confident with.
I remember the first day I met with her she could barely sustain eye contact; she looked down at her feet and I could barely hear her.
However, after two months of working together weekly she found her voice and discovered she was a natural! She had it in her all along!
