Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will start will an initial student assessment to determine the best course of action for the student's development.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified USPTA Tennis Professional.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in 2004 while attending school at UCLA. After graduating in 2006, I continued coaching and started to develop my own brand and business. Presently, I am part of the Brymer Lewis Tennis Academy in Irvine, CA.
What types of students have you worked with?
My first student is currently top 40 in California in his age group (class of 2019). Another one of my students is top 50 in the class of 2023.
That being said, I work with all levels and enjoy mentoring students at all ages and levels. I work with adults with NTRP levels ranging from 3.0-4.5.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do your homework and find a fit that works best for you. There are a lot of pretend instructors out there. Also, being a great tennis player does not necessarily translate to a good coach.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Figure out your goals and needs and try to find an instructor that matches that.
