About
I'm an English, RADA trained actor (Three Year Course), offering classes focused on auditions and speaking Shakespeare.
I've been teaching acting for over ten years and have helped many students gain places to prodigious schools. I've also coached pro actors with screen and stage castings.
We start with body and breath and move onto actions. At RADA (The Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art, London) I was taught Shakesepare by William Gaskill (Royal National Theatre, Royal Court) and acting technique by Doreen Cannon (Uta Hagen trained).
My RADA traing brings together American method with the English traditions of speech and oratory.
I'm available Monday to Friday 8am-12 noon for Zoom/Skype coaching.

I like to see how a student/actor grows. How they find their strength. How they start to understand the journey towards making things simple, direct and fun.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We begin with a free 45 minute introductory session.
Then we agree on a course of lesson, eother a one off, a series of 5 or a series of ten: to be extended as you wish.
I find out what you are hoping to achieve. Where is your focus? Stage? Screen? Both? Perhaps you are a corporate client who wishes to improve their oratory skills?
My voice tutor also also Margaret Thatcher!
I've worked with serveral business professionals on presentation skills.
Here's a You Tube video of my approach to speaking a Shakesepare Sonnet:

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trianed as an actor at The Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art, London. The Three Year, full time course for professional actors.
(I was there at the same time as Sally Hawkins, Andrew Lincoln, Matthew Rhys).
I was also invited into bot hte BBC and the Royal National Theatre to train as a writer. I do also offer screenwriting classes.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer 75 min classes.
$50 for single classes (= $40 p/h)
$225 for a course of 5 x 75 min classes (= $36 p/h)
$400 for a course of 10 x 75 min classes (= $32 p/h)
If you pay in advance for a course of 5 classes, this is valid for 8 weeks; if you pay in advance for a course of 10 classes, this is valid for 15 weeks: so should you need to skip a week of two, you wont miss out on a class.
I can offer shorter/longer classes upon request.
How did you get started teaching?
I've been teaching all my adult life in one form or another.
But teaching became my number one focus ten years ago when I moved to Paris and set up an acting Meet Up. You can see details of pass classe here.

What types of students have you worked with?
Though I've taught group classes in Shakespeare, modern monologues and scenes, and Acting On Camera; my main passion is working with individuals on their specific goals.
Each year I've helpd students gain places at the top drama schools, RADA, LAMDA, The Royal Scottish Academy and others.
I've also worked mainly with French acotrs preparing them for casting in US feature films and UK TV.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You may know your goal, you may not. Acting can be soemthign you have a strong clear idea about, or it may be simply an itch you wish to scratch, just to see... Either way, I'm happy to help.
The joke at RADA was that on the last day the Principal would invite you into his office and tell you "the secret of acting." Of course it doesn't work liek that, and each performer tries a variety of approaches, moving towards what works for you. If it works, use it, if not... lose it.
Acting technique is not some religious mantra, it's not holy. Think of it more like a sport. We train to do something physical. It's about body, breath and doing.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals?
What are weakness?
