About

Private lessons by appointment on Tuesdsay and Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Group classes in Stockton on Wednesday at 7 pm beginning in February of 2018. Wedding packages are available to help you prepare your first dance. Now, offering Zumba classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 am for ladies that love to dance but do not have a partner.

I have always been a dancer. I have studied ballet, tap, jazz, and country line dancing in preparation for my certification in ballroom, latin, and swing dance through DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dance Association). I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm and passion for dance with my clients. The beauty of the private lessons lies in the fact that I can tailor the program specifically to your goals and abilities. I began my training in 2002 and passed my certification exams in May of 2006 and remodelled my home and created the studio space. I look forward to sharing my love for dance with you!

    Frequently asked questions

Prior to the first lesson, we discuss their goals and the style of dance that they want to learn. At the first lesson, I will dance with the singles or observe the couple and to gauge their entry level skills. Each class is customized to help the student progress at their own pace. Students that purchase a package of lessons can decide which dance will be covered in each lesson.

I enrolled in seminars through the Ballroom Teachers College of Oakland in order to learn how to become certified to teach ballroom dance through Dance Vision International Dance Association (DVIDA). I passed by Bronze exams in American Smooth and American Rhythm in 2006. I opened my studio in May of 2006 and began teaching group classes for the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts in the fall of 2006. Currently, I teach group classes for the City of Stockton and the City of Lathrop Parks and Recreation Departments.

I completed my Zumba Instructor Basic Training in Sept. 2015. I received my Zumba Gold License in Feb. 2016.
At the Zumba Convention in July 2016, I added by Basic 2 credential.

Group classes for social dance are priced at $10/hour/person.

Private lessons start at $40 for a 45 minute session and if you buy 4 lessons, you get the fifth one FREE. This price covers one or two people.

Wedding packages start at $100 for a 2 session package or $200 for the 4 session package. This is the cost for the couple.

I began as an apprentice for an established ballroom instructor in 2003. Upon completing my DVIDA certification in 2006, I opened my studio and began teaching group classes for the City of Tracy in Sept. of 2006.

I also have a California Teaching Credential and have been teaching for the Manteca Unified School District since Sept. of 2000.

I have worked with numerous wedding couples, I have competed with students at the International Grand Ball in San Fransisco, and for the past 10 years I have coached clients in private and group classes ranging in age 9 to 90 to achieve more confidence on the social dance floor.

For the past 8 years, I have hosted the Stockton Showcase of dance. At this event, students and instructors from Turlock to Sacramento present performances for the viewing pleasure of their family and friends. For the first time this past May, I utilitzed the talents of my local high school band to perform the music. We raised over $800 for the band program and the dancers gave amazing performances. The event is held annually on the third Sunday in May. For details, visit www.stocktonshowcase.info

The best advice I can give to potential students is that they must be willing to practice. Simply taking a class will not result in mastery. I also encourage them to go out social dancing as soon as possible. You will connect with other dancers and create a network of relationships. It is CONNECTION with the instructor and other dancers that keeps us growing!

What day of the week and time are they available for lessons.

What is their goal for taking lessons; fun, fitness, competition, special event, confidence?
