I’ve been a teaching professional for over 20 years and have worked from beginners from the age of 4, to nationally ranked and college players, recreational adults to open level.

I was also named the LA Times All Area Coach of the Year for coaching The Flintridge Prep Rebels to the CIF semifinals for the first time in school history.

I coach at Raquet Swingers where I offer both adult and junior programming for players of all levels.

Tennis is a great game that I love and I hope to instill the passion I have for the game in all the players that I have the opportunity to work with.

I enjoy teaching tennis because I have a passion for the sport and love instilling the same passion in the players I coach. I find it rewarding to see my players not only progress in tennis, but in all facets of life. Tennis instills work ethic, focus and teamwork which I try to bring out of my players each and every practice.

I have known coach Morisa for many years. Mostly, I watched her taught young players and trained them from novice to highly competitive athletes. I often was amazed at the quality of their tennis play. She’s professional, easy going, friendly and patient.

I finally got the chance to work with coach “Mo” myself. I was looking to improve my game. Morisa’s a great coach and the perfect trainer to help me reach my goal. She taught me proper technique and strategy. I LOVE IT! I got to learn hitting with proper form and having beautiful forehand. We fixed my serves, backhand and volleys. She even taught me to hit with “open stance”. It was so much fun!

Coach “Mo” also offered tips and positive comments to encourage me to play smart instead of forcing my shots. After taking lessons from her for a few weeks, we saw major changes and improvements in my competitive match play. I even got lots of compliments from other tennis players.

I can’t thank her enough for her dedication and passion. She is such a treasure!

She helped me change my forehand grip and I’ve done better ever since. She has really helped me with my service motion in which gave me a really big flat serve today. When I was coming back from an injury with my left wrist, she was able to build my backhand to become stronger and better than before. Even though it took some time, I feel like my strokes are definitely improved and more effective now. I did a lot of one on one session with her and this allowed me to feel comfortable traveling to tournaments with her. She is a wonderful coach and would definitely go to her to help with my technique and what I should do in a match when I play tournaments.

Particularly, she helped me with my footwork by introducing me to drills and exercises that elevated my tennis to the next level. Morisa shows genuine care for her students which is difficult to come by and fully invests her time and effort into the development of her players.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to work on technique and then start to incorporate live ball drilling and point play. I believe in having great footwork.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I played on full scholarship at UC Berkeley and am also a USPTA Elite Pro.

My group workouts are $25/hour.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching when my former coach asked me to help with some of his top juniors. I loved coaching right away.
