The Theatre School @ North Coast Rep encourages young people to explore the adventures of live performance so they can further understand and appreciate it as an art form. With this foundation, we are dedicated to educating future theatre professionals in the highest standards of the most essential elements of theatre, and inspiring students to become lifelong theatre supporters. Our Theatre School offers students the skills and confidence they need to excel in any profession.
Our vision is to offer classes, productions, workshops, and training designed to educate students, and enrich their appreciation of diverse cultural and theatrical experiences. We strive to challenge students to go beyond basic training, and take ownership of choices and personal development. We strongly support student’s freedom of expression, and inspire exploration of creative release.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All of our classes occur in small groups in our Theatre School rehearsal/classroom space located two suites down from North Coast Repertory Theatre. Students should enroll either online through our Theatre School website: www.northcoastreptheatreschool.org, or by calling our box office: 858-481-1055.
We hold classes throughout the school year and summer theatre day camps during summer months. We also offer 5 student acted productions throughout the calendar year for various age groups.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our instructors have various degrees in theatre and education and are current working professional actors, directors, designers, and educators local to San Diego and North County San Diego.

What types of students have you worked with?
We work with a wide variety of students from various social and economic backgrounds between the ages of 4-21. Scholarships are available for need-based students based on application.
