I had a couple of lessons with people and Alicia was the kindest and knowledgeable person I have found. She's awesome love going every week.

I was one of Alicia’s students when I was in High School. She would come in once a week to teach the violin section and she was very detailed oriented on how we played. I no longer play the violin but if you are looking for a violin teacher I highly recommend her.

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching from when I volunteered in High School for a children's music summer program. From there I worked in several after school programs. Then I worked as the violin consultant for the Sweetwater Union High School Distict. I currently teach private lessons and group lessons for a home schooling company.

I have worked with students as young as 4 years old and the eldest has been 22 years old. I have worked with students with gifted music abilities as well as students with learning disabilities and ELL students.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

A recent event that I am found of is when I taught a new student her first lesson and after the lesson her mom sent me a picture of her smiling on the floor because she was so happy!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would advise you do look into their expirience and personality. Find someone that will fit you and has the knowlege of how to help you achive your musical goals.
