About this pro

I have been an award winning director and teacher of film and stage for 30 years both in the professional arena and on the education side. I have been the director of over 100 stage plays and films, and served on the acting faculty at five universities.

I take a very individual approach to acting with each student. I like to find out what they do well naturally and develop a program to grow their skill set from there.

I have always been passionate about the profession of acting and proud to teach an ever changing art form that is 2500 years old.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First talk to them about their education, experience and goals. Have them do a cold reading of different types of material so I can get a handle on their range and things that we need to work on.

Develop with them a program to perfect what they do well and develop the skill to audition and book work. We also spend a lot of time talking about the business of acting and what they can do to better brand and market themselves.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

BFA - Theatre Arts, Valdosta State University

MFA - Theatre Arts, California State University, Long Beach
