About
The most important part of my lessons is developing a practice routine that fits each students personality and goals. I specialize in teaching Grades 6-12 helping students reach artistic goals, or High School/ College auditions. Im passionate about giving back inspiration and guidance I was lucky to experience.
I've been teaching professionally after graduating New School University with a BFA in 2012. After living in New York, I relocated to Oakland CA where I taught for the Stanford Jazz Workshop and the California Jazz Conservatory. Now having recently completed my M.A in Music Education I'm living back home in Los Angeles, and privately throughout the area.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First lessons are always a zero cost session. We will find what level you're at and set a very small goal for the following lesson. Also, we'll chat about what music and drummers inspire you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Los Angeles County High School for the Arts where I studied Jazz and continued on to graduate from New School University for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Im currently enrolled in a Masters of Arts program at SJSU with a focus in Music Education.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
First lesson is always free, moving forward I work on a sliding scale system based on the students economic needs.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching by getting mostly referrals from other musicians within my community as well as teaching after school percussion classes. I was also lucky enough to have a drum teacher come to my home growing up, so I have an intuitive in home teaching style.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ive mostly worked with grades 6-12 but also teach adults as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Working with an 11 year old student towards her first show and watching her apply everything we learned.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say find someone that teaches YOU as an individual, and not teaches what the instructor wants.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What kind of music interests them.
