He can create customized sheet music to adapt to the playing level of the student. He will teach you that it’s more than just memorizing or playing the notes. I like how he understands what songs would be a good fit for me to play. Best music teacher I’ve ever had!

Tim is a reliable, positive, and realistic cello instructor for my son. My son switched to Tim this past Fall after working with a different instructor for several years. My son, who has ADHD struggles, also switched instruments at the same time. With these music instruction changes, my son is finding a lot of success and joy. Thanks, Tim!

Mr. Shawn was a great teacher! He was very patient with me as he taught me to play the guitar. He also helped me learn about music theory, and explained in a way that made sense. As an adult beginner, I was worried about the lessons being geared towards children, but Mr. Shawn did a great job not making me feel childish!

I have enjoyed lessons with Sayyod. He is professional, gives great comments that help to improve certain progress. His lessons are well-organized. It is always interesting to know something new from him because he has knowledge in both majors. I would suggest him as a great teacher if you want to learn how to play piano or clarinet.

Malena is patient, encouraging, flexible, generous, and an inspiration. She is everything you could ever ask for in a piano teacher. Every time I come across a lesson, song, or technique that feels frustrating or confusing, she finds an innovative way to tackle it or explain it. I took lessons when I was a kid and wanted to get back into piano for 14 years, but I found it extremely difficult to find anyone who offered lessons outside of the standard 9-5 work week for a reasonable rate. Not only does Malena offer flexible times for lessons, but her rates are totally feasible, and she's even more flexible now with the option of video lessons. I've grown as a piano player by leaps and bounds in the last year alone, and have had wonderfully positive experiences with our showcase recitals (even with my immense stage fright). I adore Malena and can't recommend her enough.

Austin has been an awesome teacher for me. I have been taking guitar lessons with him for over 4 months now and I couldn’t be any happier with the value provided. I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a teacher to begin taking lessons with him as I believe he is a great fit for anyone.

I just had my first vocal coaching session with Tona Brown, and I’m honestly blown away. From the moment we started, she was incredibly in tune with my needs—not just technically, but emotionally. She zeroed in on areas where I lacked confidence and immediately began building me up with targeted, effective exercises.
I’ve been singing since high school and have spent much of my life performing in church. I’ve also had the honor of singing in Black Nativity at the Anacostia Playhouse under the direction of Stephawn Stevens. Still, in just one session, Tona helped me feel more empowered and equipped than I have in a long time.
She not only believes she can help me increase my vocal range and find more joy in singing—she believes I can make real money with my voice. And for the first time, I believe that too.
Tona is professional, inspiring, and incredibly flexible with scheduling. She even suggested more frequent sessions so we can really dig into the goals we’ve identified. If you’re even thinking about vocal coaching, book a session with her. After one session, I can tell you: she’s the real deal.
