Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always like to start by hearing what goals you may have and what direction you are looking to go in, in the vast world of percussion. If you don't have any specific goals starting out, I will assist you on creating goals for yourself that are fun and challenging yet achievable. For fundamental practice (learning to hold sticks correctly, basic rudimental patterns) I always start with the drum pad which is essentially a piece of rubber or other similar material that imitates a drum (and is A LOT less noisy). From there we will work on the kit to develop the skills you will need to achieve your goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have attended 3 musical leadership workshops that have provided me the tools to affectively aid other musicians in following their path.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I actually got started at my own high school! As I started developing more advanced skills at a young age, I was used as a resource for the other kids to learn through. I have done 1 on 1 lessons and group lessons for over 20+ beginner/intermediate percussionists and have fallen in love with teaching ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with mostly young students ages 10-19 years old. I am open to taking in kids that are 7 or older.
