About

Hey there! Whether you have never touched a pair of drumsticks before, or you're already on your way to becoming a rock master, I will structure your program based on your individual goals and the style of music you want to play!

If you are a beginner to intermediate percussionist in any of these 3 categories:

- Drum Kit (Genres: Pop, Rock, Punk, Jazz)

- Marching Snare

- Marching Bass

and are looking for lessons to help you on your way to basic understanding around your kit, or have determined goals to prepare for an audition for a specific drum, I will be right by your side guiding you towards your dreams.

About Me: Drumming is my passion and look forward to sharing it with you! I have dedicated myself to lifelong learning in percussion since 2013 (8 years). I am available to teach the following:

- Acoustic Drums

- Electric Drums

- Drum Pads (This is where beginners should start)

- As well as marching instruments (please ask for more info if that is the case)

Here is a quick list of some of the credentials I will be bringing to all of our lessons.

- 3+ years educating others in marching bass, marching snare, and of course drum set

- 4+ years in an award winning Jazz Band

- I have been educated 1 on 1 and in groups by some of the best marching percussionists (Brandon Hussey, Matt Lowe, Christopher Carasco) in the state for 5 years.

- Awarded 2nd place in an individual solo competition

- Awarded multipls scholarships for further education in Jazz

- 7 performance awards for quality musicianship

If you would like further information or have any questions about my experience levels teaching other forms of percussion, feel free to reach out!

Kyle has been a great instructor for me. He does a great job of explaining how the basic principles will be applied later on and makes sure that I understand everything before moving on. Due to Covid, he is doing both online lessons as well as in person lessons makes scheduling very easy. Overall, I have enjoyed learning from him and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is getting started.

    Frequently asked questions

I always like to start by hearing what goals you may have and what direction you are looking to go in, in the vast world of percussion. If you don't have any specific goals starting out, I will assist you on creating goals for yourself that are fun and challenging yet achievable. For fundamental practice (learning to hold sticks correctly, basic rudimental patterns) I always start with the drum pad which is essentially a piece of rubber or other similar material that imitates a drum (and is A LOT less noisy). From there we will work on the kit to develop the skills you will need to achieve your goals.

I have attended 3 musical leadership workshops that have provided me the tools to affectively aid other musicians in following their path.

*My prices will never go up except for specific circumstances such as a change in commute that is longer than ideal (>30 miles).

I actually got started at my own high school! As I started developing more advanced skills at a young age, I was used as a resource for the other kids to learn through. I have done 1 on 1 lessons and group lessons for over 20+ beginner/intermediate percussionists and have fallen in love with teaching ever since.

I have worked with mostly young students ages 10-19 years old. I am open to taking in kids that are 7 or older.
