About

My name is Jahan Vijeh, Owner and Head Tennis Professional of Jazara Tennis Academy. Tennis and athletic development have been a central part of my life for over a decade, both as a player and as a coach. I continue to compete when I can, and I bring that same competitive mindset into every session.

As a PTR Certified Tennis Coach with nearly 10 years of experience, I take my approach beyond traditional instruction. I focus on developing complete athletes—combining technical stroke development, footwork, and movement with elements of strength and conditioning. With a background in weight training and a Fitness Coach certification from DVC, I integrate athletic performance into my coaching to help players build a strong, well-rounded foundation.

I am currently launching structured training programs for players who are looking to take their game to the next level, whether that means making their high school team or beginning to compete in tournaments. These programs are designed to build consistency, confidence, and competitive readiness through a clear and progressive system. Message me for more details.

In addition to tennis, I compete in pickleball and offer lessons for players interested in learning or improving at that sport.

Jahan is great with my 11 year old. They get along great and that helps improve my sons game. Jahan is truly hard working and he doesnt rush lesson plans. He customizes each lesson by individually understanding strengths and weaknesses of each player. We are glad to have him teach our son. Thanks Jahan.

Frequently asked questions

My process starts with understanding the player first. I ask a few questions about their athletic background, previous tennis experience, and goals so I can tailor the training to their needs. From there, I evaluate their current level through rallying or controlled feeding, depending on what’s most appropriate. This allows me to assess their technique, movement, and overall coordination while identifying key areas for improvement. Once I have a clear understanding of their level, I begin building a foundation by focusing on one or two priority areas—whether that’s stroke mechanics, footwork, or consistency—so the player can start improving right away. Each session is designed to build on the last, creating a clear path for long-term improvement rather than random, one-off lessons.

I am a PTR Certified Tennis Coach with nearly 10 years of coaching experience, working with players of all ages and skill levels through private lessons, group training, and structured programs. I have also served as the Head Varsity Tennis Coach at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, where I led and developed competitive high school players. In addition to my on-court coaching experience, I have a strong background in athletic performance and fitness. I hold a Fitness Coach certification from Diablo Valley College and continue to expand my knowledge in coaching, sports medicine, and nutrition as I work toward further certifications in personal training. This combination of coaching experience and athletic development allows me to create structured, performance-based training programs that help players improve efficiently and compete at a higher level.

I offer both private lessons and structured training programs depending on each player’s goals. Private Lesson Rates: $100 for a 60-minute private lesson $140 for a 90-minute private lesson Semi-Private & Group Rates: Semi-private lessons: $120–$140/hour total (split between players) 3-player group: $60 per player (60 minutes) 4+ player group: $50 per player (60 minutes) For players looking to improve more consistently, I recommend lesson packages: 5-pack (60 min): $475 ($95/session) 5-pack (90 min): $650 ($130/session) I also offer structured training programs for players looking to take their game more seriously, such as preparation for high school tennis or tournament play. 12-Week Competitive Development Program: This program is designed for players who are looking to take their game seriously, whether that means preparing for high school tennis or beginning to compete in tournaments. Training is structured to provide consistent, progressive development with a focus on building strong fundamentals, improving movement and athleticism, and developing the skills needed for match play and competition. 2x/week training: $1,500 – $1,950 3x/week training: $2,400 – $2,700 Each player is guided through a clear development pathway, allowing them to build confidence, consistency, and overall performance throughout the program.
I got started teaching through my passion for the game and a desire to stay involved in tennis beyond just playing. As I continued to compete and develop my own skills, I found that I genuinely enjoyed helping others improve and understand the game. What began as assisting and giving lessons grew into a long-term commitment to coaching. Over time, I developed a structured approach to training and realized I wanted to build something bigger: helping players not only learn tennis but also develop as athletes and competitors.
I’ve worked with players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners learning the fundamentals to competitive players preparing for high school teams and tournament play. I’ve coached in both private and group environments, allowing me to tailor my approach to each player’s goals, experience level, and learning style.
A recent moment I’m especially fond of happened during a match I played in extremely hot conditions. My opponent came out strong and had me down 0–5 in the set. During the changeover, I made a comment, “I guess it’s just not my day,” and he responded, “It’s not over until it’s over.” That stuck with me. I reset mentally, stayed disciplined, and focused on competing one point at a time. I ended up coming back to win the set in a tiebreaker. I love sharing this story with my students because it reinforces an important lesson: no matter the score, momentum can always shift. Staying mentally engaged and continuing to compete is often the difference.
My biggest advice would be to find a coach who offers structure and a clear plan for your development, not just someone who runs drills. Every player is different, so it’s important to work with someone who can adapt their coaching to your goals, whether that’s learning the basics, making a school team, or competing in matches. It’s also important to find a coach you feel comfortable with and can communicate well with, since improvement comes from consistency and trust. The right coach should not only help you improve your technique but also guide your overall development as a player and athlete.
Before reaching out to a coach, it’s helpful for students to consider a few key points. First, what are your goals? Whether it’s learning the basics, joining a school team, or competing in tournaments, having a clear direction helps guide training. It’s also important to consider your current level and what you feel you need to improve on, whether that’s consistency, technique, movement, or overall confidence on the court. Lastly, think about your availability and how often you’re willing to train, since consistency plays a big role in improvement. Being able to communicate these things clearly allows a coach to create a more structured and effective plan, leading to better long-term results.
