About

My name is Jahan Vijeh and I welcome you to Jazara Tennis Academy. Tennis and fitness are my biggest passions. I have been playing for over a decade and still compete when I am able. I have been coaching and teaching for 8 years now. I love to incorporate elements of personal training into my sessions because I am a firm believer of not just making a great tennis player, but a great athlete in general. I have years of weight lifting and athletic experience and hold a Fitness Coach certificate from DVC. Additionally, I am a competitive Pickleball player and am starting Pickleball lessons as well.

Jahan is great with my 11 year old. They get along great and that helps improve my sons game. Jahan is truly hard working and he doesnt rush lesson plans. He customizes each lesson by individually understanding strengths and weaknesses of each player. We are glad to have him teach our son. Thanks Jahan.

Frequently asked questions

I start out by asking some questions about the student’s previous experiences in fitness, athletics, and tennis. Next, I start evaluating the player's skill level by either rallying with the player or hand hand feeding some balls, whichever I deem more appropriate. This also allows me to view the player's form and where they can improve, whether it's their feet or swing. After that, I'll find something the player can improve on and work on that, and then go on from there.

I have had many tennis coaching jobs and give my own private lessons. I also was the Head Varsity Tennis Coach at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek and am currently a Tennis Professional at The Bay Club in Pleasanton. Additionally, I'm working towards getting a degree in coaching and sports medicine/nutrition, as well as certification to be a personal trainer.

I charge $80 for a one hour private lesson; $120 for an hour and a half. $120 an hour for a semi private; For groups of three or more I charge $50 for each player for an hour lesson; $75 for an hour and a half.

I also have lesson packages:

Private: 5 for $380; 10 for $760

Semi-private: 5 for $550; 10 for $1000

Group 3+: 5 for $220; 10 for $450 (each player)

My prices are actually quite competitive. Many tennis coaches charge $100+ for private lessons.

I realized that tennis was my true passion. Ever since then, I have been adamant about working in the athletic/tennis field.

I have taught beginners, intermediate, and advanced players of many ages.

Find a coach that works for you. Everyone is different, players and coaches alike. Likewise, different coaches have different teaching methods. Find one that suits you best.

A few questions might be, "what do I need to improve on?" and "what is my end goal?" The second one is really imortant. Players/students should really think of a goal they want to achieve, whether that goal is short term, long term, or both. Players should communicate their goal or goals to their coach for the best possible results.
