My work is always Specific, Constuctive and Imagination-based. Unlike most teachers who simply teach Scene Study, I have broken the work of the actor into the component parts of craft and also emphasize the release of debilitating habit patterns that limit range and destroy true analysis and exploration of character. Organic transformation is paramount.

i understand all approaches, current and historical and teach my tweaked versions of the best of the masters along with my own methods of interpreation and emotional homework.

Approach was developed over 40+ years teaching and directing at conservatories including Juilliard, Harvard, Boston University and running Carnegie Mellon Drama.

I have directed 160+ shows in the NY and regional theatre and produced 150 hours of network television. Awards include the Kennedy Center-Anerican Express inaugural award, a Joseph Jefferson and the Outer Circle Award in NYC.
