As a former Division 1 baseball palyer, I've always looked forward to having the opportunity to pass down my knowledge of the sport. When I was younger I was lucky enough to have a coach who talked in depth about his experiences with the game and understood each athlete is different. Although coaches like that are rare, that's the type of coach I strive to be with each lesson. Not every child begins with great athleticism or skill, but that doesn't mean next level athleticism and skills can be developed and honed. I want to give you child the chance to be the best player that he can be. Let's help him reach the next level of baseball!...

My name is Christian Fetter. I’ve played organized sports for over 30 years and have always been a perfectionist who studied the ins and outs of mechanics in order to achieve the best performance possible. And this time I have learned that different individuals require different approaches and improvised solutions based on the individual and not just some textbook mechanics that need to be applied. I have learned that I have a special ability to identify where someone needs improvement, what the best solution is to correct or make adjustments as well as how to communicate such solutions in a way that this individual will be most receptive to

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

Cody is friendly and positive and great with my 13 yr old. He comes prepared and on time every week and is great with communication. I can see the improvements and excitement in my player after just a few sessions. Cody clearly knows his baseball and knows how to connect with the kids. Highly recommended.

It was great how passionate and excited the trainers were and their dedication to help you reach your goals. I trained for 3 months and it was totally worth it. I was even able to do some cool outdoor workouts with my trainer just to mix things up and when the weather was nice.
