About
Hello everyone! I want to encourage you all to consider me as your teacher. I have been teaching the drums for 5+ years now, and have been playing the drum set for almost 16 years. I have taught in churches, schools, homes, and for many events and workshops all around California (Feel free to check out my instagram @playing_with_purpose). Music is one of the biggest parts of my life and am pursuing great things. As a teacher, I find it very satisfying to see a hungry student growing in their gift, not just in all level but in passion. My teaching style may vary, based on age, experience level, and the students goals but one thing I always do is build trust with my student and family. It's important to me that you are having fun, learning, growing, and understanding, and repeating. Where do you want to grow? Let me help you.
I enjoy watching other students develop in their craft, along with growing in their passion and excitement for the drums.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I prefer to get to know about my new student. Where they're from, what they want to learn, who their favorite drummers are, what they do for a living, where they go to school, etc. I have a better way of connecting with this person that way. I teach basics to beginners starting with holding the sick, learning names of drums, practicing rhythm excercises and things along those lines. With new students that are not beginners, we go from where they are soon as we refresh on the fundamentals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught in schools, churches, music camps and have also been training with another touring, recording and teaching professional.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge for the month in one payment.
Price: $200 per month.
Duration: 1 hour per class.
How many: 4 to 5 lessons a month.
How did you get started teaching?
I found myself enjoying sharing my interests with other people at a young age and told my mother one day that I wanted to become a teacher. As I developed a passion for the drums, it wasn't until I was about 19 that I started to entertain the thought of teaching music, and soon began doing so. I started with a few private students in a church, and found out how great it really was to share a passion and gift.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of many ages.
Children, teens, young adults and even "senior citizens". I have worked with ADHD, Autism, students with low confidence, and more.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take it serious. If you want to learn a lot, find a teacher who is passionate and will help you grow.
