What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process when working with a new student is to take the first day to get to know what goals & dreams they have in order to make lessons plans to help them meet those goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been taking private music lessons and performing since the age of 4. I've been studying music in relation to teaching it since 1998.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$130 per month for 4 lessons that are 30 minutes in length. The lessons are scheduled for the same day and time every week.
How did you get started teaching?
I had been taking private voices lessons despite my instructor thinking I didn't need them. (I needed them for my soul). One day I brought in a vocal education book and was sharing it with her and she asked me why I wasn't teaching voice. She told me she had a waitlist and offered to make me her understudy. I could take her waitlist students and get started. That day in 2005, my teaching journey began.
