About
I am an inspirational bilingual director, with experience as a compassionate educator. I have achieved much success as the Educational Director of several programs throughout Los Angeles including; “A Place Called Home,” Colors United, and SYLVAN Learning Centers. My specialty is dealing with the challenge of “turned-off” students. My aim is to encourage, to motivate, and to inspire others to achieve their success. I will customize a program that will work for that particular individual.
Motivation is KEY, and has several positive effects on students’ learning and behavior. Motivation directs behavior towards a particular goal. Once the student can set goals for himself/herself and direct his/her behavior accordingly...BAM! This motivation leads to increased effort and energy.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A typical process for working with a new student for me is making a connection and talking about their goals for the class. I ensure them they will have a customized program and that I will teach them according to their learning style! I am very patient and love when the student makes that connection with a language. I tell them that we will keep it fun, and use other innovative tools for each session. Then, of course I want them to ask me questions and concerns.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Language Education which includes another major in Spanish from Cortland University. I worked in the inner-city for 7 years, and worked with several Latino Familes and their kids. I studied Education Administration at Chapman University for 3 years. I was the Center Director of SYLVAN Learning Center in Manhattan Beach for 8 years and actually incorporated a Spanish program for this center with students of all ages.
