About
I am a licensed art teacher and I currently teach part-time at an elementary school in Portland, OR. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University Monterey Bay. I am experienced in teaching almost all artistic mediums. I like to help my students discover their innate, unique creativity and allow for students to find fun, healing experiences through art making.
I also speak Spanish very well. I lived in South America for two years recently and became fluent during that time. I also minored in Spanish in college.
I look forward to facilitating a fun and fulfilling learning experience for you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For the first ESL or Spanish lesson, I begin by assessing the student's verbal, writing, and reading skills. I ask them about their experience with the language (travels, previous classes, etc.). We also discuss the student's goals for the lessons and what they would most like to get out of them. I will then structure the lessons based on the student's needs, goals, learning style, and level.
For my first art lessons, I like to find out what styles of art the student likes; I have them show me some artists and works of art they enjoy. We discuss their previous experiences in the arts and their goals for the lessons. I cater the following lessons to meet their goals. Throughout the lessons, I strive to uncover and develop their own personal style.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For ESL: I have my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate and a year and a half of ESL teaching experience in Peru and Argentina.
For Spanish: I minored in Spanish at CSU Monterey Bay, I attended a month-long intensive Spanish course at Conversa Institute in Costa Rica, and I lived in Peru and Argentina for two years
For Visual Art: I have my Bachelor of Arts Degree from CSU Monterey Bay and am a practicing visual artist. I also received my art teaching credential and I'm in my second year of teaching elementary school art.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in 2016 when I decided to get my TEFL certificate in South America. As soon as I held my first classes and lessons, I knew that teaching would become one of my greatest passions.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages from preschool to adults.
