RL Theatricals
About
Hello! I'm Robert but everyone calls me RL. I'm love teaching people how to dance and I'm very blessed to do this for a living! I'm a private contractor so I get hired to choreograph small projects, weddings, parties, quinces, musicals, competition routines for ballroom dancers and weekly lessons for those who love to dance!
I started off about 7 years at Arthur Murray International and due to being booked quite a bit, I've decided to part ways and go private. Majority of the time, I go to people's houses and teach their and every now and then, I'll rent a dance studio near by to hold lessons there as well for others to come to.
I choreographed the Zoot Suit Riot Tour in 2016, Assisted for DWTS in 2015, numerous weddings and quinces, masterclasses and coached competitors for ballroom dancers from San Diego to Los Angeles!
Let me know how I can help YOU out!
List of my dances: Musical Theatre Jazz, Hip-Hop, Waltz, Tango, Fox Trot, Swing, Country and Latin!
Honestly, get others passionate about dancing as much as I am! There's a moment where it "clicks" when learning something new. I enjoy getting people to that point! I'm very blessed to be doing this for a living!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
What I would typically do is start off by talking and getting to know each other. I would dance what ever dance they know as an assessment to see where they're at then ask where they'd like to go with their dancing! If they are completely new, I would introduce the basic of a few dancing to see what they like and they don't like so I can plan the next lessons accordingly!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm certified through Arthur Murray to coach ballroom professionally.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I am:
$100/hour (outside of Riverside County)
$80/hour (Riverside County)
50% off on first lesson!
How did you get started teaching?
I started at the age of 15! Landed my first professional choreography gig at 16 and became a private contractor to coach ballroom at 22.
What types of students have you worked with?
From students who were just curious and ended up staying with me, to artists who wanted to brush up on their dancing before they head to a competition. It makes us smile when people who claim that they can't dance end up continuing to take lessons because they end up loving it!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my good friends is a marriage therapist. One day she called me up and asked me if I could teach a private lesson for one of her clients. It's been 2 years now and they still take lessons from me! It really warmed my heart when they told me that their dance lessons saved their marriage.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't be afraid to shop around! You don't have to commit to one teacher. I believe ever instructor has something unique to offer!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The big one. What's the big picture for you? Social skills? Sense of accomplishment? Making new friends? Help me help you!
