Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Find out what their skill level is and how comfortable they are with a knife. Find out what they like to cook and how many times a week they cook.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over ten years experience cooking in the professional culinary world in Minneapolis & Chicago and have been in business for myself for over two years. I am a Vegan Chef specializing in Organic, Gluten-Free cooking and educating my customers on why a Vegan diet is so good for not only your body but for the environment and animals as well.
I also cook for a variety of private clients as a meal prep and delivery service as well as host cooking lessons in my kitchen-lab. I also cater for large or small events and special occasions.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My classes range from $150 and up depending on what you’d like to learn.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching lessons after figuring out my passion was spreading the word about how important a Vegan diet is to our over all general well-being. I lost my Mom and Mother-In-Law to Cancer and saw a need to help people connect to their food source as a way to help heal their bodies and environment.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages; from kids that are having a hard time finding things they like to eat because of wheat allergies, to adults of all ages that are looking to increase their knowledge and connect with others through cooking.
My love of cooking and teaching to those looking for a better alternative to boxed, over-processed foods which in turn, creates community through a natural bond over food.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my favorite events I hosted was a Vegan, Gluten-Free Christmas Cookie class. One of my students brought her young son, who has gluten senstivities, he was overjoyed to make and decorate cookies he could actually eat. THAT is why I do this, super fullfilling and I feel this is my purpose on the planet!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
