Hello,
My name is Jushua Mayo Director of Mayo Acro and Dance (MAD). I started MAD to provide a fun and educational way of staying fit and helping dancers with their technique. I provide tumbling, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and hip-hop classes. As a professor dancer and instructor for over 10 years, I have committed to providing a platform for students to gain access to quality dance classes in the community.
I enjoy providing a fun and safe environment for my students. My students are the number driving factor for me to continue in this industry!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Understanding the areas a dancer wants to emphasize their training on. Then figuring out a perfect schedule that accommodates both parties.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of dance training in Guam and California. A former professional performer with Royal Carribean Cruise Lines, SeaWorld San Diego, and Disney. Work as a choreographer for various productions shows. Former competitive gymnastics coach.

How did you get started teaching?
At the age of 17, I assisted choreographers and instructors throughout Guam and California. I was given my first chance as an instructor at age 18 and landed a permanent spot with various dance companies as a faculty member.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you emphasize what you intend to train in. What your goals are and always listen to your instructors. They mean well!
