What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At our first class, I like to talk to students to get to know them and their interests so that I can relate the Spanish classes to things that motivate them. Also, I like to give out a pretest, set up monthly attainable goals to make sure progress is monitored. And finally, I like to have fun as they learn a new language.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I currently hold a BA and credential in teaching, a MA in Autism, and another credential and MA in school psychology. I have a passion for teaching and have taught students for over 10 years now.

How did you get started teaching?
My passion began when I was in college and worked as an instructional assistant in 2008.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students in the general education classroom and in special education ranging from kinder through college.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you interview your teacher first to make sure they're a good match to your needs and most importantly, make sure the teacher is a native Spanish speaker.
