I ONLY TRAVEL TO MY CLIENTS who have access to a tennis court where they live...home, condo, apartment and HOA...OR they know someone who has access to a tennis court.
My teaching experience spans over 20-years of all ages and ablities. Tahiti, Hawaii, US Virgin Islands, Lake Tahoe, Palm Desert and other locations are some of the places I have worked.
I am a USPTA Elite Professional; member of the USTA and USAPA.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first phase is to find out what the student wants to do with their tennis game. Then observe what they do now and finally begin to teach to their desired goals.
I call it the "LOT Theory"...Listen - Observe - Teach.
My goal is for every session to include Fun - Knowledge - Exercise.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
*Over 20-years teaching tennis to all levels and ages of players.

*Attended numerous educational meetings and seminars over the years related to teaching / coaching tennis.

How did you get started teaching?
It was my summer job during college. I grew up next to the head tennis coach for the local college team and he ran adult / junior tennis camps during the summer months. He offered me a position and I accepted!
What types of students have you worked with?
My teaching experience has been at resorts and clubs so I have worked with all ages and abilities. Also have been a volunteer assistant coach for 10-years for a girls high school tennis team.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You want someone who can create a good experience. We have all had teachers who knew the subject matter thoroughly but were not good at presenting it to a classroom of students. If the experience is good the learning will be more positive.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The goal of the instructor should be more than simply deliver what the student wants but rather to help the student realize their potential beyond their stated goals. Many times over the years I have had students state a preferred goal for their tennis only to realize after a few lessons they wanted to achieve more than their original goal. My belief is it is the student's lesson and tennis game...not mine. So a key question for the student is can the coach take them where they want to go or even further and how will they do it?
