Elmara Spanish Tutoring

I really like Elmara’s teaching style for Spanish. We quickly went through the fundamentals, alphabet, phonics, and a starting vocabulary for self-study (continuous homework) and then she dived right into grammar. Each lesson takes me further into grammar, while adding to my vocabulary. She used lots of interactive conversation, so she can tell if I am saying things correctly and if I am hearing it correctly. If not, we immediately work on correcting that. Inter actively talking in Spanish is especially important to retaining what I learn. She speaks very clearly, and slowed down from normal Spanish, so I can clearly hear the full phonics, of what is being said. The pace seems fast, buts that is fine, since I do not want to make learning Spanish a career.

I have known Elmara for a few years. I know her both as a friend and tutor. As a tutor I have found her to be very knowledgeable in both English and Spanish and an exceptional ability to understand a student’s needs in terms of their learning station

She answers the “why” question. Very excellent!

Elmara is very patient and motivates us to speak, read, & write Spanish. She gives a lot of positive feedback.
