Chris is awesome. I wanted to play the drums for years and finally decided to go for it. I have been out of college for over 10 years and decided it was time to try it. Drum lessons with Chris are so much fun and he is pretty close to me in Tustin. He is really organized and has a great way of breaking things down for me. I find he is super patient and easy to understand. If I dont get something right away, he always has another way of explaining it so I can understand it. I wanted to find a teacher that could teach jazz drumming and rock drumming and Chris has a lot of experience with all styles. Chris also helped me pick out an electronic drum set, which I really appreciated. I can highly recommend Chris for any student, especially if you are an adult student looking to learn the drums.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I offer a $35 - 55 minute, introductory lesson at my studio in Santa Ana. If the student has never played before, we have fun and give the student a chance to try the drums for the first time. If the student has some experience, then I have the student play to determine their level, and then we discuss their goals in detail and work on creating a custom curriculum.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attended the New England Conservatory of Music, Berklee College of Music and Purchase College of Music, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in music.

I also studied with many great drummers including; Joe Morello, John Riley, Alan Dawson, Bob Moses, Fred Buda, Kenny Washington, etc.
