Don't Get Caught Acting

Don't Get Caught Acting

About

Don’t Get Caught Acting is an Actor Training Lab built on a simple truth: no one wants to see an actor act. Audiences don’t want performances that feel forced—they want honesty. At Don’t Get Caught Acting, we teach you how to strip away the “performance” and tap into your authentic self to bring characters to life with truth and presence.

Led by J. Mallory McCree (Homeland, Good Trouble) and Angela Lewis (Snowfall), the lab is grounded in years of professional experience across television, film, and stage. Together, we’ve worked with some of the industry’s most respected directors, producers, and creatives, navigating everything from network dramas to independent features. That lived experience informs our approach, giving actors not only the tools to succeed in their craft, but also the confidence to thrive in the high-pressure environment of set life.

Our philosophy is about moving past acting and into being. Through tailored training and coaching, we help actors connect with their own humanity, emotions, and instincts, then channel those into their work. The result? Performances that feel grounded, lived-in, and unforgettable.

At Don’t Get Caught Acting, we’re not teaching tricks. We’re cultivating truth. Because when you stop trying to act, you start to truly live in the role—and that’s what audiences remember.
