Number one: I meet people that are eager to learn and grow. Number two: teaching is my passion. My coach had the same passion "Enjoy teaching". I get goosebumps and endorphins when someone makes a breakthrough in understanding a physical movement. I have been at the same location for 36 years. I have seen my students (age 6 ) become number one in the nation in doubles and number two in the US in singles (six years straight ) and number 11 in singles. Those two players in particular became teachers themselves.

Rodger Lolley is a great pro. He is a great technician and can explain everything several different ways until one “clicks.” He has taught from the very young to the very old, including competitive, nationally-ranked juniors/college athletes. But the majority of his students are playing simply because they love the sport, and Rodger’s main goal is for people to have fun. He and his wife Lynn also string rackets, rent rackets, can help you determine what tension/type of string you need, etc. Need help with your game or your equipment? Want to hit off a ball machine? Want to improve your serve (his specialty)? Look no further!

    Frequently asked questions

Find out what their needs are what level of play they are and What their goals are. Why do they play tennis. How do they learn best. Beginner's intermediate and advanced are all in different approach. After each lesson regardless they have two free by machines to practice prior to the next lesson.

Two years instruction three hours a day five days a week in the summers.  Five days a week two hours a day in the winter under Irving Byrnes who taught Pancho "Richard"Gonzalez. USPTA courses at conventions.

Cal State University Dominguez Hills BA

Physical education department physical education department with "great distinction"

Taught the number one doubles US junior and number two singles player US junior since age 6 released at age 10 but continually worked with him throughout his junior play Derrick Bauer.

My current rate today is $85 an hour but will be raising it 1 January 2020 I do not take more than two students at a time if they want to share the lesson and if I do have two people it's $90 per hour.

    I do not teach groups

My first coach gave me the passion to learn and to grow and to drill was a pleasure to develop perfection in each and every stroke he taught me.

My second mentor, Bob Parker, was twice USPTA Pro of the year. He encouraged me to join the organization and mentored me. We became partners all the way to the end of his passing.

Four years old to 98 years old. My 98-year-old was in the Tennis magazine November/December 2010 with Rajfer on the cover and the article what is Tennis uninterrupted. I was also mentioned in that article. Beginners intermediate and advanced collegiate players I like teaching the variety it keeps me alert and challenged

Three of my students at Venice high school Took the team to CIF and went three rounds it was a great experience for them.

if possible watch them teach other students and see what he is trying to accomplish and gets the message across. Is he positive in his teaching critique. Is he a listener and does he have a lot of ways of trying to get across the image he's trying to form in the students head. Does he use different forms of teaching such as visual kinesthetic and verbal and to what percentages based on the students learning capabilities. Does he have passion.

Why are they in the sport. What is their ultimate goal with Tennis. What are short term goals for more immediate growth. Will this teacher coach a casual player or is he more into the competitive tournament player. How much time can I devote to practice. And to be realistic And honest with yourself. How much time you would Devote to practice prior to each lesson.
