Social Dance Lessons
About
I have been dancing for over 3 decades-- first in Ballet, Jazz and Modern, and for the last 15 years social partner dance (Salsa, swing, ballroom, latin, etc.).
So many people have the lifelong desire to dance, but just don't take the chance to try it out. I aim to provide a safe and supportive atmosphere for people to let themselves move to music, both on their own and with a partner.
Dance is so good for the brain, and the soul!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Find out goals and experience as well as timeline (if applicable, ie wedding dance, cruise, etc.).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked as an assistant for over 7 years, helping new students find their way in beginner classes, and also have a few years experience teaching group classes and private lessons at 2 different dance studios in San Jose.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been a high school Spanish teacher for 14 years-- I love working with students of all ages and discovered my love of guiding people into social partner dancing as I was improving my own skills.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked primarily with students 16 and up.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
To learn how to dance with a partner (whether leading or following), you don't necessarily need to go to an expensive studio where group lessons are rare, or where purchasing a 'package' is required. (If you aspire to perform or compete, that may be the way to go.)
