Teaira's Expressive Dance Lessons

Hi everyone! My name is Teaira and I am glad you're interested in dance! I love to dance and I have been dancing since I was 5 years old. I have performed and competed in multiple national cheer and dance competitions in different states around the country. In college, I joined a university contemporary/hip hop dance team and branched off and created my own dance organization on campus that specialized in Hip Hop, Contemporary, African and Jazz dancing/choreography. After college, I moved to Connecticut and taught hip hop dancing, cheer and step to 6th grade students at a charter school.

I enjoy dancing and I am a firm believer that dance is a form of art and structure. When teaching my students, I love to make learning fun. I believe that dance is a way to express yourself and everyone is very unique; therefore, I make sure that I find ways to make the music and dance resonate with my students. Not only will students learn how to dance, but I make sure that my students increase self-confidence, learn how to work well with others, how to express themselves through the art dance and enjoy it along the way.
