Welcome! My teaching focuses on my student's strengths and reasons for learning. I ensure that students are taught from a personalized curriculum that brings them closer to their goals while emphasizing the music fundamentals that will prepare and enrich them for life. I am passionate about drums, percussion, theory/composition, and songwriting. I believe I can engage any curious or dedicated student with this eclectic mix of perspectives and experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
To start see where they’re at in their skills & abilities and go from there.
Basically, I work on; fundamentals and technique; basic music skills; reading music; four way independence on the drum set; then using all those skills in playing music, songs, compositions in whatever genre the student is interested.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Drum line drumming since 1972.

Studied jazz drumming at MSAC with world renowned jazz trombonist, Ashley Alexander. Including drum lessons from David Garibaldi, Alex Acuns & Chad Wackerman.
BA Music Ed CSUF
DRUM SET with various bands including; shows at musical theater, show band drummer Princess Cruises, LED Zeppelin tribute, The LessMore Band (R&B), Mind Meld (prog rock), Lula & Afro Brazil (Samba), Pacific Jazz Quintet, various sessions with rock bands.
