Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
"As each student is unique, I have a general meeting to determine which class is the best for the actor's artistic goals. If desired, I will also work with actors privately to assist their progress." Classes are designed by Kimberly to support each actor's skill to build a bridge from the art to the profession. This is an active study that will help actors become professions as well as grow expodentially in the development of their craft.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Trained at:
UCLA-BA, USM-MA, American Conservatory Theatre, American Center for Musical Theatre, Master Classes: Roy London, Michael Shurtleff, George Shdanoff, Jeff Corey, Delia Salvi, additional Training in: Meisner, Adler, Chekhov, Strasberg and Hagen.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Class is $330 per month. After the third month actors are eligible for a $30 early registration discount.
How did you get started teaching?
Many years ago I was brought into Professional Artist's Group to teach because I was coaching so many of my friends who were booking and getting great results. I fell in love with teaching and it took off from them. I talk about it in the preface of my book, Acting with Impact.
What types of students have you worked with?
Master students starring in Oscar award winning films as well as actors that are entry level, and completely new to acting. I love to coach all levels of students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Coaching at Actors Pro Expo.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you train with a coach who 1) Loves teaching and 2) is educated in many different acting techniques. Acting is so personal, one system may or may not work with an actor. It's important for your teacher to have the resources to build your skill and career.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is the teachers method and how successful are their students working the techniques taught.
