About
Sydney Actors Collective (SAC) is a non beginner acting school that trains actors to take their craft to the next level. SAC is proud to offer a SAFE and NON JUDGEMENTAL environment for students to discover and play.
SAC is an acting school from Australia that has opened it's doors in LA. Australian and British actors are really successful in LA at the moment. At SAC you will learn the "Aussie way", and hopefully let a little bit of the Aussie success rub off!
Acting is about performing with a sense of fearlessness. Failure is not a bad word! While all attempts are made to help you get a deeper connection to the work, onus and importance is placed on being able to take risks and even fail. You will learn just as much from things that don’t work as those that do. The concept of living outside of your comfort zone is a mantra at SAC, as this is where magic and acting excellence happens!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We like to work WITH the student. To help them find their unique acting voice and not just become like every other actor. Actors that are great and let their individuality come through their work are always more interesting to professionals looking for actors.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
SAC is one of Australia's top boutique acting schools. Past and present students have worked on top network TV shows, international films and main stage theatre shows both in Australia and now Hollywood.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The price is based on a 3 hour class. Each class is $60.
How did you get started teaching?
All SAC teachers are working actors. We use working actors as our teachers. Actors who are constantly learning from sets and can offer their wisdom and experience to new actors. If you want to be an actor...learn from successful actors.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with non beginner acting students. So to get accepted you must:
Have an agent OR have a demoreel/imdb page OR have some previous acting training OR have a bio showing past work.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
SAC loves encouraging our students to film footage for themselves. We also encourage them to join theatre projects and submit their work online and to festivals.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Use teachers that are working actors. These actors are on sets, at auditions and know the journey you are on. They are ever evovling and not stuck on some course structure for years.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
All actors should have some idea of what they would like to work on. What their current block or obstacle is. Also ask questions of the teacher to work out if they suit what you want.
