Stewart Jean Drum Lessons
About
As Program Chair of Drums at Musicians Institute I understand the needs of aspiring drummers. When I meet a student for the first time we have a conversation about what their goals are and game plan on how we will work to attain those goals. In addition to having 25 years of experience teaching I am also a working drummer in the Southern California area.
I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Music from the esteemed Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. I have worked with many well known artists live and in the studio. My drumming can be heard on the soundtrack to the movie Contact.
At Musicians Institute I authored countless curricula and courses for the school. These courses include, Analysis of Great Grooves, Drum Set Soloing, Reading, Technique and Performance.
I am also well-versed in running backing tracks and e-drumming. You can also see my video tutorials (a new release weekly) at DRUM! Magazine. http://drummagazine.com/?s=stewart+jean

Helping aspiring drummers is a passion of mine. I was lucky enough to have excellent instructors in my formative years and I enjoy passing along the knowledge. Also, I have 20+ instructors that work for me at Musicians Insitute thus am constantly on my game as far as the latest teaching methods and trends.
