I love the feeling of helping people get better at this game. That look on their face when I tweak their stroke and they feel like a whole new player, is priceless. I also love the fact that because we are playing tennis, outside in the fresh air, getting a workout in and focused on something that they enjoy, people always leave feeling great! I love that I get to be apart of such a positive part/experience of my clients' lives.

Mark is the best. Not only does he know everything about every stroke, but he knows how to break it down in simple and clear ways so that you feel challenged but not overwhelmed. Highly recommend!!
Mark is a beast. He will make you one, too. He knows everything about the game.
Mark is a perfectionist. He is very precise. I enjoy this about working with him. He doesn't want you to settle for being average.
I will start by having you hit all strokes (forehands, backhands, serves, volleys, approach shots, etc. slice, topspin) and then noting and analyzing what could be improved. We will then work from there and focus each lesson on a few concepts to improve all areas of your game. If your technical strokes are solid and you are looking for more of a hitting partner and to learn how to build points better and strategize against opponents, then we will do more of that. Whether you are a begginner, or an advanced tournament level player, I can work with you to get the most out of this game!

I started helping to teach the summer clinics at the Menlo Circus Club in Atherton, under Head Pro Nial Brash, when I was just 16 and 17 years old. But I think what really jumpstarted my interest in coaching was working with my friend, turned pro, Dennis Novikov. I would travel with him to some of his tournaments and talk strategy before and after the matches. That led up to going with him as one of his coaches to the 2017 U.S. Open. Meanwhile, I had been teaching lessons here and there throughout my time at USC, and so I decided to pursue it further once I graduated!
