History-Established in 2002.
Honeymoondance.com was created in Brooklyn, NY in 2002 by Magdalena Mendez to help wedding couples' learn to dance for their " first dance".
In 2003 she made her way to the west, and found a home in The Silicon Valley area. The web site evolved from not only offering to teach wedding couples first dance, but to teach singles, couples, seniors and children.
Magdalena- being an independent dance instructor- knew that at some point she would need her own dance space to continue growing her business to offer premier Ballroom Dancing instruction. In 2008 she founded and open The Skylight Ballroom in Scott's Valley, Ca. Being an entrepreneur and natural explorer she decided to expand to Sacramento County and now promotes her business via this site "Moon River Ballroom".

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Magdalena encourages and inspires students to discover the joy of ballroom dancing. "t's always a thrill to witness a student dance a "move" they felt they wouldn't be able to achieve.
Intention is to make students feel at ease and comfortable but also by the end of their session a feeling of accomplishment that they can dance!
