About
Whether you're just dipping your toes into acting or need specific feedback on your important audition monologue, I will give you tools to achieve your goals. My style is is supportive and I encourage my students to take risks and try new things.
I am a professional actor and director and I look forward to sharing with you what I've learned from my more than 35 years of experience.
I find working with students to be enormously rewarding. My favorite times are when the student makes that key discovery about the character they're playing.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First we talk about what your goals are, what specifically do you want or need to work on?
Then, you'll perform a monologue for me or do a cold reading to get a feeling for where you're at.
I'll give you feedback and we'll proceed from there with mutually agreed upon goals. You'll choose 2 monologues, one dramatic and one comedic and we'll work on those.
If wanted, we can work on scenes as well, if you have a fellow actor that would also like some coaching.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Professional Acting experience in film, television, and on stage.
BA Theater Indiana University
Completed the 2 year Professional Actor Training Program at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
MFA in Directing from the University of California, Irvine.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching at an exclusive private school in Los Angeles where many famous parents brought their children. I taught acting, stagecraft and directed plays as well as teaching for summer Shakespeare camps.
Then I went to graduate school for directing, where I taught Acting and Intro to Theatre classes for undergrads.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've taught in both private and public high schools, universities and private students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I directed a very challenging play last fall, which was very successful. Myself as well as 3 other individuals were nominated for Henry Awards. I was very proud!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Meet them first and see if they're someone you would like to work with. Work with someone who will coach you and encourage you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be specific about why you're taking acting classes. What goals do you have and what will it look like when you achieve them?
