The incredible Instructors and staff at The Silhouettes offer soul filled training through love and light.  They enjoy helping each and every student achieve their goals in dance, vocal and acting.

We LOVE to help children, teens and young adults reach their dreams and aspirations. Our incredible team of instructors, cast and crew help develop dancers, singers and actors for live performances on our in-house huge stage and also for professional work around the world.  Because we own our own in-house theatre, we are able to offer opportunities to performers to learn to choreograph, direct and enhance their performance abilities without huge theatre costs.  There are no performance fees, costume fees or entry fees which makes our program more accessible to every student.  We love to create and designing our own performances is our craft!  Students also have the opportunity to learn costume design, lighting design, photo editing, video editing, headshot and resume classes and more!  The annual June Festival of Dance is completely designed and presented by select staff and students and allows the cast to learn to direct, develop a full production show, set their own lights and choreograph to their hearts content!  Bottom line... WE LOVE WHAT WE DO!

My daughter has been dancing with The Silhouettes for several months now and she couldn't be happier! She's made so many friends and has really taken her dance training to another level. The dancers and teachers are so welcoming and encouraging while also providing excellent instruction!

Lynne is a wonderful teacher. She takes an interest in every student personally. My daughter loves going to class and has grown “leaps” and bounds in her skill and technique.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Each student is entitled to a free trial class for placement.  The goals and aspirations of every student helps our Silhouettes team create a training program that enhances their growth in the peforming arts. Students interested in becoming a Silhouette are offered no cost performance opportunities at The Silhouettes that help prepare them for the professional performance. Placement is based on the ability of the student, not their age.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The Silhouettes Heartbeat Team (instructors and staff) have over 200 combined  years of performaning arts training.  The owner and Director of The Silhouettes has an extensive background in dance educationa, vocal and musical theatre experience. This includes choreographing for television, film and live theatre performances.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

The Silhouettes offers excellent pricing for training classes and also professional performances  where the dancer is paid for their work and all travel expenses are covered.  The first step to becoming a paid peformer is to join the training program. There is no charge for live theatre rehearsals, performances, costumes (other than end of year Festival) cast photos or props.  The only fee is a ticket to see the shows!

How did you get started teaching?

The Silhouettes Director and instructors began teaching because of their love of children and also their love of teaching.  The ability to share their many talents with children, teens and adults is what drives them to the highest level of excellence. To see the light go on in the students eye when they understand the expectations, step or performance is truly the greatest moment in time!

What types of students have you worked with?

The Silhouettes has worked with thousands of artists and have seen many go on to perform in film, television and on Broadway!  We begin training at age 3 with our "Growing Your Wings' program and continue to offer training and performance opportunities for children, teens and adults.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

The Silhouettes performed as contestants on America's Got Talent 2011 placing 1st Runner-Up and again as guest artists on the America's Got Talent Finale 2016. These were truly memorable experiences that offered a performance opportunity for 24 cast members from The Silhouettes that they will never forget!  This is the 10th time we have appeared on America's Got Talent and we are truly honored for this opportunity. Performance link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZ5JGVFiHTw

We also performed on the NBC America's Got Talent Holiday Spectacular in December 2016 and had the honor of performing at the Presidential Inaugural Liberty Ball to honor the American Heroes who helped shape this great country!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

If you would like to spread your wings and fly, The Silhouettes Training Program is the place for you/your child!

We are a non-competitive, positive training environment that offers the student/cast member full training in the performing arts.  When you walk through the doors of The Silhouettes... your future begins!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Shadowlight Theatre loves hearing students goals and dreams. We want them to "think big" because you never know what can happen. After all, we were just a small performing arts studio in Arvada, CO and America's Got Talent launched us onto worldwide television. Therefore, we always say... "DREAM BIG"!!!

7.   Am I interestesd in performing on television?

8.   How dedicated am I?
