KMT Acting For Stage/screen

I have had vast experience as a professional actress for over 35 years, appearing on Broadway, Off-Broadway, National Tours and at regional theatres throughout the country, as well as on television and film. A classically trained actress, I'm a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and have taught acting in the Alabama Shakespeare Festival/University of Alabama MFA Program, University of Utah acting program, Utah Shakespearean Festival, the National Theatre Conservatory MFA program as well as The Denver Center Academy’s Adult Series, and have done master classes for the University of Northern Colorado Theatre Program. In 2004, I was part of the National Endowment for the Arts Shakespeare in America Series. The NEA and the U.S. Department of Defense joined together to fund a production of Macbeth which traveled to 13 military bases across the United States. I performed Lady Macbeth and in February of 2005, my journals about this experience were published in American Theatre magazine. At the request of then NEA Chair Dana Gioia, I traveled to Washington, DC to report on the tour to the National Arts Council. In 2006, I created and performed my one-woman show, "Shakespeare's Women: Lovers, Mothers, Queens and Courtesans," for the performing arts series of the Cherokee Ranch & Castle Foundation. With a grant from the Colorado Council on the Arts, I have brought Shakespeare to underprivileged high school students throughout the front range of Colorado. Among numerious acting awards, I was also selected one of 10 professional actors from across the United States, awarded the Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship (2013) by the Ten Chimneys Foundation.

With a background in the classics, I love teaching the language of Shakespeare as well as other classics to individuals who seem intimidated by the the literature. Small children have the capacity to understand and create vivid characters that speak to their lives today. There is nothing more thrilling than to watch someone open up a well of emotions and understanding through the power of acting. I have as well been involved with numerous new plays, and I love encouraging people to find their inner voice through the power of storytelling.
