As I look back on my own music education, I remember how much fun I had playing my instrument. This was not only because of the instrument, but because of the relationship I had with my teacher. I always strive to make the experience enjoyable yet challenging, just as my own experience was. I believe that every student has their own personal learning style, so I strive to adjust to the learning style of the student to best maximize growth. I have a Master of Music Performance Degree from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. During my tenure at UM, I was a Teaching Assistant for the percussion studio, teaching undergraduate level percussion lessons and percussion ensemble. I received my Bachelor of Music Performance Degree from Colorado State University. While at CSU I was awarded several performance based awards and scholarships. I have extensive teaching and performing experience of several different aspects of drums and percussion including drumset, marching percussion, solo percussion, orchestral percussion, percussion ensemble, and world percussion. I believe that I have the experience and expertise to provide any person of any age and skill level with a fun and optimized education that will help them reach their goals
I really enjoy connecting with my students. There are few things more rewarding than watching my students discover there own love for music and bringing it into fruition.
