About

One-on-one guidance is a great way to gain the perspective you need to grow. For over two decades, I have been helping musicians make noticeable improvements in their craft.

There are so many things I wish I had known when I started my musical journey. In addition to working on drum set styles and grooves, hand and foot technique, reading, coordination, and music theory, as your mentor, I can help you avoid common mistakes and build confidence in your ability to perform with other musicians.

Why learn the hard way? Over the years, I’ve distilled my approach to music into a philosophy that allows me to operate efficiently and skillfully. Every session is customized to your specific needs so you can set and achieve goals while having fun and stimulating your creativity.

    Frequently asked questions

I meet every student where they are and build from there. Every lesson is customized to meet the student's specific needs and goals. As we continue working together, I’ll suggest other areas that could use improvement.
I started drumming in 1993 at age nine. My father is also a drummer, and by the time I was fifteen, I was subbing for him at rehearsals and gigs. I moved to Denver in 2004 and have since established a reputation among artists, bands, producers, and entertainment agencies as a reliable and consistent drummer able to adapt to many different styles and situations.
I charge $60 per 45-minute lesson or $75 per 60-minute lesson, payable monthly.
I started teaching at a music store in Longmont back in 2002. I relocated to Denver a few years later and taught at Metro Drum School (Nov 2007-July 2010), Broadway Music School (Aug 2010-July 2016), and Achord Music Educators (Aug 2016-Dec 2024). Since then, I’ve developed a comprehensive approach encompassing everything I’ve learned from over twenty years of drumming experience.
My students have successfully auditioned for music programs, including Denver School of the Arts, Denver Citywide Honor Band, and Jefferson County Honor Band. Many have even continued to study music at the collegiate level at institutions like Roosevelt University, the University of Oregon, and Colorado State University. I also consult with other working drummers, helping them refine their craft and take their music to new places.
