About
I believe strongly in setting my students up to succeed. I help students develop clear goals to work towards, offer techniques for accessing difficult material, and set up clear practice guidlines so that their practice is yielding results. My hope is to instill a sense of process in my students and do away with the paralysis that comes from not knowing where to begin when given new material.
When we are working I use diverse strategies to help my students find honest connection to the material. There is great joy and freedom in having the opportunity to try and fail and learn together.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For recurring lessons:
I offer a discounted first lesson, which allows us to get to know each other. I will get a sense of your performance goals, your type and personality, and see a bit of your work if you have something prepared. From there we will set up a plan for future lessons, talk about your strengths and potential areas for growth, and find materials for you to work on that will help achieve the goals we've discussed during future sessions.
For one-time or occasional monologue coaching sessions:
Before your session I ask that you email me the monologue or sides you are working on, the title and author of the play and a pdf of the script (if you have one), and your headshot and resume (if we have not met). A 1.5 min monologue that you have mostly prepared takes about 1.5-2hrs to clean. If the monologue is still in it's early stages plan to schedule mutiple sessions. My process is very thorough, and I ask you to explore every posssibility that your material offers. This takes time but leads to an excellent finished product.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
>BFA in Theatre Performance and a Minor in Dance from Stephens College
>Graduate of the Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory
>Further training with Washington Improv Theatre and Synetic Theatre

> Acting Teacher at TRYPS Children's Theatre
