About
I am an experienced Meisner Technique teacher working with students and developing my approach to acting for over 30 years. The studio started out in New York where I trained as an actor and then moved to Washington D.C. where I am one of the most well-known and experienced acting teachers in the area. My Complete Actors Training for Stage, Film and TV focuses completely on step-by-step acting training, and covers all the venues that actors may encounter in their career, from stage to film, sitcoms, soaps and commercials, and from contemporary screenplays, independent films to Shakespeare and experimental theater. My approach to acting is serious but at the same time I like my classes to be enjoyable and humorous. Students have been very enthusiastic about the training.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students who come for acting training, whether experienced or beginners, start from the basic response exercises that are the foundation of Meisner Technique. These dynamic exercises go step by step to build the actor's technique and confidence. From there we gradually move into simple scripts and scenework, character work and more advanced skills.
If students come for coaching in specific areas, however, I will focus on what the actor wants to work on - for instance, preparing for a current audition, or film acting techniques for an upcoming project.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied with four Meisner teachers for eight years in New York City, worked in a variety of stage, film, tv and industrial projects, and then began to focus on teaching. I've now been teaching for over three decades, first in NY and then in Washington DC. I also work with students from many different areas via Skype or Facetime.
