Monique Caldwell is a dynamic performer and a highly experienced director of diverse stage plays. As a Certified Drama Instructor, Monique works with youth and adults in the performing arts and the community theatre circuit. Her education includes a BFA in Theatre and a MA in Theatre Education. Monique's passion is to coach individuals and groups with an interest in acting as a hobby as well as pursuing it as a profession.
What I enjoy most about what I do is helping my students come out of themselves, where there are no more inhibitions and they are free to be creative and be themselves in the moment. I love working with all kinds of students, from all ages and levels - from the wall flower who needs to build their confidence, to the student looking to sharpen their skills for that major audition or to the person that just wants to have fun!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our first meeting will be more of an interview process: Getting to know the student, answering any questions or concerns, accessing their goals and what they would like to achieve from our training together.
Then we would discuss scheduling and the length of time they would like to commit. I would also explain my expectations of their personal work. Students may either bring pieces to work on or I will assist in helping them find appropiate theatrical work.
Our meetings after the interview process would consist of using theatrical pieces such as monologues, poems or original work to introduce basic acting skills (vocal variety, projection, stage presence, use of the imagination, body awareness, etc.,)
