Charlotte .. says, " I think Ann started around the holiday season, she’s had about one academic semester of once per week classes. She was still 2 years old when she started at Ottley’s Music School. Now she can find middle C, identify A, B or C anywhere on the keyboard, read notations like piano meaning play softly, fortissimo meaning play loudly, and quarter rest. She has been introduced to half and full notes and rests, but doesn’t yet consistently apply them. She can play simple 3-note sequences with either the left or right hand but sometimes prefers to play all notes with either her thumb or index finger rather than following the assigned fingers for each key. It’s really an extraordinary amount of progress for her age. I’ve been surprised" Read more

I am an outgoing senior that is willing to teach kids interested in music at an affordable price range. I believe I have sufficient experience to transfer my violin skills to other as I have been selected into the Rhode Island All State Junior and Senior Orchestra the past 5 years, and will play at the regional NAfMe Eastern Division Orchestra. The past summer, I helped out other younger students with their violin skills at the Community MusicWorks (CMW) Summer Camp. Hello! My name is Robin Tozzie, I have been playing violin for as long as I can remember. I grew up with the Suzuki method studying violin and piano. I continued my musical studies receiving my Bachelor's of Music and Master's of Music in violin performance at Florida State University and Rice University the Shepherd School of Music. I love teaching the violin, and have taught for many years! My goal as a teacher (and a student of violin myself) is to develop and learn to love the sound that you (or I) create. I believe this is the impetus to becoming a better musician. Of course, you must not skip the fundamentals (scales, etudes, music theo

My studio is open and accepting new students at this time. Keep reading to find out what you can expect from my lessons and key observations for violin instruction at every level. I have a kinesthetic approach to teaching which means I incorporate motion and rhythm into my lessons. My students can expect to have an experiential experience with violin. I set standards for progress while maintaining an atmosphere for learning and growth. While I am classically-trained, I am open to exploring other genres should students express a desire to do so.
