Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Hello, my name is Florentina and I am a concert pianist and a piano teacher from Romania. I have a Master's degree as teacher and performer (piano, guitar) from the George Enescu Conservatory, Romania.
Awarded with several prices in piano and guitar competitions. Some of my students also are prizewinners.
I currently teach piano, guitar, music theory at the Valencia College and, I recently found out that online teaching can be very useful and effective. My attention to the student goes on developing a comfortable and correct technique and musicality in order to avoid any stiffness or tensions.
Moreover, I can help a lot improving music memory and stage fright.
My goal is to give all my students a solid foundation of musical knowledge and technique so that they can express themselves freely in their music. I am the author of 9 music textbooks.

Piano is best taught from many different angles, so I am focused on combining note-reading with theory, ear-training, scales and chord playing. When put together, this well-rounded type of study helps students become pianists/guitarists players who can play many different styles with great understanding. My students are encouraged to make suggestions about song selection so that they remain focused and move forward while learning songs that they specifically enjoy. I enjoy watching students’ progress and my goal is for all students to grow in their understanding, ability, and love of the piano!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
*There are many teachers claiming to know to teach piano but they don't have a degree in music, nor do they have the knowledge to teach properly.
*First you need to see how the teacher plays piano or guitar.
*Have a trial lesson, see if your teacher has an organized plan to teach.
* If you did not learn anything in your first trial lesson, then search for another teacher.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Where do you think i can be in one year from now as far as my piano skills/guitar skills ?
