I also have a very well-organized and structured curriculum that has worked for so many guitarists here in Tampa Bay over the past 20 years. Although I have been playing guitar now for 40 years, teaching is a bit different than just being good on the guitar and I have a relationship with all of my students where I have a good understanding as to how they learn things. I build on this to push them as far and as fast as possible while keeping the fun in it. My excitement is there

Have fun and learn music in Tampa!

Lisa Pearce · Brandon, FL

Hey Everybody: Lisa Pearce here and I have literally spent my entire life in the music industry.

You might think it’s absurd but I was inspired long ago at the age of seven and it was by a second grade substitute music teacher. It was thrilling to hear her play and the happiness she showed us. I decided right then and there that I was going to do music for the rest of my life. Then my brothers, sister and friends slowly came on board. Many of them play for fun and enjoyment still. They all certainly have fond memories of good times and laughter.

The best part of my job and I will be honest here is when the person wants to learn a song that is on You Tube or their favorite band. They either want to sing it or play it and to me it sounds like something fun to do.

We connect and the music takes a whole new life to itself. The happiness that we both experience is so worth the time and effort.

The songs in the method books are good and theory is fascinating yet we all do those exercises so we can play the songs that move our souls.

Since I have been in the industry for so long and worked in a top recording studio for one thing there have been many people I have met along the way.

Who knows what will come of this musical adventure?

I love the sparkle in people’s eyes when they know and I know they are going to dive in and learn how to play. Then they tell me about the fun they have with their friends, talent shows and school functions not to mention their families.

I have helped students get ready for performances, competitions, and contests, as well as events. You name it, I have done it.

When I judge events and see the time and effort that people put into getting ready, that inspires me. To me music is a universal love that opens the heart and the mind and then that person is forever changed.

Who knows what music has done for people all over the world? Music is ageless and timeless. Playing music settles the soul, invigorates the mind, and relaxes the body.

When teaching I see it as a comforting and fulfilling time together well worth the effort.

So my advice to those musical souls out there is this go through the process and enjoy the results. Six months with a good teacher can change your musical view for a lifetime.

Search until you find what sings to you and keeps you growing.
