I am passionate about teaching begginers, intermediate, and advanced players of all ages. I love to teach how to practice and to help them towards building a progressive repertoire. We will learn at the students pace and revisit the students musical preferences based on their favorite styles or artists.

I enjoy building students knowledge and enthusiasm of what they learn based on what music or technique they bring to the lesson. So get ready to bring a song list and a lot of curious questions to the lesson.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

After assessing short and long term goals with the student, we begin at the students pace and skill level to develop their fundamental technique and musical development.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I currently have been teaching individual lessons for the past 3 years. I have studied with Dr. Stanley Yates at Austin Peay State University to earn a Master's Degree in Guitar Performance and Dr. Mark Switzer and Dr. Jimmy Moore at Florida Southern College to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Guitar Performance.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching guitar locally in Lakeland, Florida at a music store following my last years at Florida Southern to all ages from beginner to intermediates individually and in group settings.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure that you know what you are walking into in that you should already have a basic passion or desire to learn experience or play music or guitar

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What kind of songs? What kind of styles were instruments? What artists and what other interests? They may have been playing guitar?
