I have been teaching music a long time.  I take the same approach with children as young as 2 years old as I do with my college students at Nova SE University, with retired adults, and with parents of the children - it's just tweaked to be age-appropriate, and tailored to each person.  I want music to be fun, but also rigorous and excellent! Music enriches everybody.  I believe in a creative approach to the discipline of learning to play an instrument WELL.  I think it is crucial that lessons be FUN, whatever that means to each unique student, and that the immense satisfaction of learning to play music is a reward in and o ... Barta's Violin Lessons

Barta Anderson · Boca Raton, FL

What or who inspired you to start teaching?

As a young student, I was initially inspired to take violin lessons by my aunt, who was a concert violinist. Through the years, as I was learning to play, I was inspired by some wonderful teachers who had a great impact on my life. This was the beginning of my passion to teach. Music became my life and I wanted to impart my experience to others.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have enjoyed working with students of all ages, from 4 years old to adult. What I love most about teaching is watching the development of my students through the years, not just as musicians, but as confident, well rounded, competent people music does this!

What advice would you give aspiring students?

I have many years of training and experience using the Suzuki method, and this method is my primary focus, but I can work with students with other backgrounds. My advise to students would be to work consistently each day, and the results will come, and are so worth the time you put in; and that music will enrich your life more than you can imagine!
